Happy Friday!

No School Monday so enjoy your long weekend.  The students have been studying national holidays and know exactly why we celebrate Memorial day. Ask them!

Our play is Monday, June 3rd. Thanks to all who RSVP’d.  

Our week at a glance:
Reading: We finished our non-fiction reading unit. We will just read aloud several books including a chapter book for the last 6 days of school!

Math: We finished our unit on growing and shrinking patterns.  We will send home the Unit 6 AND 7 benchmark assessment in the Friday folder. 

Writing: We have been writing in response to reading and writing with our social studies content.

Social Studies: We finished our unit on US/MN symbols and national holidays. The benchmark assessment will go home today in the Friday folder.

Science: Next week students will study engineering in Science class.

Next week:  
Monday: No School
Tuesday: Science
Wednesday: Science
Thursday: Field Trip to Hugo farm: Wear tennis shoes and appropriate clothing 
Friday: Science, Big buddies

Friday Folders- 
Homework: Memorize your lines for the play. 
Class pictures are going home as well as student journals.
