I'm so happy to be starting another year with you at Marcy!  As we all know, things are not normal right now.  If they were, I'd be looking forward to scooping ice cream for all of you and catching up in person, but things are not normal.  We are living through history.  Not only are we going to make the best of an impossible situation, we are going to learn new, better ways of doing things.  I know we're going to come out the other side stronger, smarter, and more capable than we went in.  We just have to have the courage to do it.

If you're like me, you want answers.  You want to know when things can start feeling normal again.  You want to know when you can be with your friends and loved ones again.  You want to know what school is going to look like.  I'll be giving you answers on the last one as soon as I know them.  Until then, I want you to know that I'm working hard to make sure every one of my students gets the best education they can.

A bit about me:

My name is Andrew Tralle.  My pronouns are he/him.  I enjoy making music and REALLY enjoy making it with amazing young people.  My top priority is that every student feels seen, respected, and that they belong in my class.  I use music to build community, and being a cohesive community helps us make amazing music.

I've been teaching instrumental and general music at Marcy since January 2012.  I've spent my time building a culture of music making as well as a thriving instrumental music program.  I hold a BA in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Minnesota, Morris.

I live in Northeast Minneapolis with my partner, Claire, and two (soon to be three!) children, Harriet and Thaddeus.  Harriet will be starting kindergarten at Marcy this year!  I enjoy cycling, photography, listening to and making music, and learning new things.
