In our classroom the students and I construct a list of classroom rules together as a classroom community.  This way the children take ownership of the rules and are expected to follow them in the classroom.  We start by thinking about what each student hopes and dreams for the school year.  We then think of rules for our classroom that will help everyone achieve their hopes and dreams.
