Hello Everyone,
My Name is Alejandro, and I am a 4th grader in Jan's classroom (213).
Every week, I will be posting a letter about what we are doing in the classroom that week involving Geography, American History, and Social Studies.
Also, I am Jan's helper for new, fun things in the class this year and I will keep you posted on that as well.
Goodbye for now,

I am the editor of 213 news (look at that on Jan's main page and select "213 News (Student Version)". We have added a new helper to the team: Taio!
Eve has been coming into the class every monday and teaching us about The Foundations of democracy. The first week she came in we talked about authority and who has the authority to do certain things. The second week she came in she started to read us a story about two bubbles named Orb and Effie who live in bubbleland and they go and try to make bubbleland a civilized place by making new rules and electing leaders.

The second quarter has begun! We have started using the Acer Tablets in our reading groups that Jan bought and I programmed for the class! Different reading groups are reading portions of the book "The American Revolution for kids". The book contains in-depth information about crucial leaders in the time of the american revolution and what they did.

Some alerts on 213 news:
Taio has quit the team, and after a search to replace him, we found William, a 3rd grader that was willing to take his place.
Now... for a TOP SECRET announcement regarding 213 news: The team has been working on a new look for 213 news. Shhhhhhhhhhhhh! Don"t tell anyone!
